Lifestyle Behavior Change
Cardiometabolic and Renal Diseases
Lifestyle Behavior Change
Cardiovascular diseases cause 31% of all global deaths1. Behavioral risk factors including unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use, and harmful use of alcohol can contribute to the onset and progression of cardiovascular disease.
- We are looking for companies that are developing behavior change solutions which reduce the progression of cardio-metabolic conditions (such as hypertension, chronic artery disease, etc.)
- We are looking for companies that are developing behavior change solutions addressing specifically the risk factors of cardio-metabolic conditions. For example, solutions which address and improve sleep health, improve mental health or support smoking cessation.

Patient Monitoring and Digital Biomarkers
Cardiometabolic and Renal Diseases
Patient Monitoring and Digital Biomarkers
Digital tools increasingly allow for remote monitoring of patients and generation of data which can be utilized for early identification of disease risk through novel biomarkers. These can help with timely diagnosis and improved treatment of cardio-metabolic conditions.
- We are looking for solutions which would allow a convenient and effortless way to monitor patients, track their disease progression and effectiveness of treatment as well as support early diagnosis of related conditions.
- We are also looking for companies developing novel biomarkers (digital, biological or in combination) and algorithms to predict the risk, progression or start of acute events in cardiovascular and renal diseases.

Social Support
Cardiometabolic and Renal Diseases
Social Support
Evidence shows that social isolation and loneliness are associated with negative cardiovascular outcomes 2. Social or community support can also lead to increased participation in physical activity 3 leading to improved health outcomes.
- We are looking for solutions that would help individuals with or at risk of cardio-metabolic conditions to access, engage with and benefit from strong social support solutions.

Screening/Diagnosis and Improvement of Bone Health
Women’s Health Care
Screening/Diagnosis and Improvement of Bone Health
80% of people affected by osteoporosis are women and, in the US, approximately 1 in 2 women over the age of 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis4. As women go through menopause, the risk of osteoporosis increases3.
- We are looking for digital solutions that can help women prevent bone deterioration and improve their bone health.
- In addition, we are also looking for digital solutions that can assess risk and/ or help early screening for diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Screening and Diagnosis of PCOS and Endometriosis
Women’s Health Care
Screening and Diagnosis of PCOS and Endometriosis
1 in 10 women are affected by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a complex syndrome with multiple symptoms and risk of other health problems1. Similarly, up to 15% of women of childbearing age worldwide are affected by Endometriosis, a chronic and often debilitating condition 2. Both, PCOS and Endometriosis, can go undiagnosed for years, leading to delayed recognition and management of the condition.
- We are looking for digital health solutions which can help with early screening and/or diagnosis of PCOS and Endometriosis.

Mental Health and Mindfulness
Mental health conditions cause 1 in 5 years lived with disability1. It is estimated that nearly one-third of people diagnosed with a serious, life-changing chronic illness (i.e. heart disease, cancer, diabetes) or disease will experience symptoms of depression and anxiety.2
We are looking for digital health solutions and platforms which help people manage and improve their mental health and wellness .

Digital Validation of Performance Status Measurement & Q.O.L
Oncology
Digital Validation of Performance Status Measurement & Quality of Life in Oncology
Patient Performance Status (PS) is one of the key outcomes considered in cancer care. PS is a score that estimates a patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living (such as eating, sleeping, working, doing housework, etc.). PS plays an important role both in estimating prognosis and selecting the appropriate treatment for patients. Although many scales for PS are available, all of them depend on subjective interpretations by patients, caregivers, and doctors.
Another important outcome is a patient’s Quality of Life (QoL), which is measured using questionnaires and interviews covering several categories including: general, physical, and psychological well-being, familial relationship, sexual and personal ability, optimism and belief and economic well-being.
We are looking for digital solutions that can calculate PS, or other outcomes such as QoL and support to reduce the usage of current standard processes (paperwork/questionnaires). These solutions should be able to support validated measures of parameters like daily activity (steps, exercise, duration and intensity), breathing pattern, body temperature, heart rate, and other parameters that would be relevant for cancer patients.

Oncology Digital Biomarkers – Patient identification
Oncology
Oncology Digital Biomarkers - Patient identification
Cancer is the second leading cause of noncommunicable disease deaths in the world and the number of new cancer cases per year is expected to rise to 23.6 million by 2030. Precision medicine has been blossoming in defining treatments that can focus its value in key genomic alterations.
New advances in analyzing clinical, imaging, pathological, and genomic data can possibly identify the best therapy option for survival while minimizing the risk for adverse events. Cases: Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), Breast Cancer (BC), Prostate Cancer (PCa), Colorectal Cancer (CRC), Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), Precision Medicine: (EGFR exon20, NTRK, IO-naive patients, eligible IO refr. Patients)
We are looking for easy-to-use patient identification solutions to identify those patients through digital biomarkers (pathology or imaging) for specific cancer therapies. These solutions should also be able to capture, aggregate, and analyze data from disparate sources to identify cases.

Supporting early diagnosis of AAA on abdominal contrast CT scans
Radiology
Supporting early diagnosis of AAA on abdominal contrast CT scans
An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a bulge or swelling in the aorta, the main blood vessel that runs from the heart down through the thorax and abdomen. An AAA can be dangerous if it is not spotted early on. It can get bigger over time and could burst (rupture), causing life-threatening bleeding.
Currently, Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom and the United States have national screening programs for AAA. Abdominal contrast CT is one of the most-commonly used imaging techniques for patients with abdominal imaging indications.
We are looking for an algorithm for identification of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm. The application will support the radiologist report by screening for AAA and identifying these patients early for better patient management and reducing complications.

Enable patients’ access to their results from Cloud AI Solution(s)
Radiology
Enable patients’ access to their results from Cloud AI Solution(s)
Patient imaging diagnostic is playing more important role in care process. It is not only the healthcare facilities that need to get the imaging results timely but also the patients want to see the results quickly or get a second opinion before making a decision. It is not rare that some areas a patient is challenged to reach out to a radiologist for second opinion. There is a need in the market to provide a patient to access a solution that can read a clinical image conveniently for secondary opinion.
We are looking for companies who have or can develop an easy-to-use mobile / tablet solution that would allow patients access to their results by connecting to a digital solution platform which processes medical images and provides the interpretation to the patient for secondary opinion or for educational use before discussing with their physician.
Note: Challenge participants can assume that the data can be retrieved from the platform using standards (DICOM, HL7/FHIR, API / Web based methods etc.)
